Invest in Employee Health and Improve Your Business

Welcome May, the month of Global Employee Health and Fitness.

The GEHFM website states that Global Employee Health and Fitness Month was launched in 1989 by the National Association for Health and Fitness.

According to National Today, Global Employee Health and Fitness Month has become an international observation that encourages health and fitness at the workplace, and looks at the advantages of a healthy workforce.

Investing in employee health can help your business cut down on health costs, improve organizational productivity, and increase team morale. And, the benefits to owners and employees typically outweigh the costs of implementation. Looking for ideas on how you can promote employee health within your workforce? Try these suggestions:

  • Launch an employee-led wellness program, where your team gets to choose different ways to maintain a healthy life balance.
  • Organize an in-office or virtual yoga session to promote a positive work culture.
  • Connect with a local nutritionist and invite them to speak to your team. It gains exposure for both of your businesses.
  • Host a fun, all-day event filled with physical activities for your team. If possible, invite their family to join in the day’s festivities as well.

Do you have a health and wellness program already in place for your team? Tell us about it on social. Join the conversation.
