Member Breaking Chains, Inc. Selected to Administer CARES Act Funding

WHACC member Breaking Chains, Inc. is exclusively one of four organizations contracted by Cuyahoga County to administer funding from the Mortgage Assistance Program. This program is designed to aid homeowners impacted by COVID-19 by distributing $2 million of the County CARES Act funding.

Breaking Chains owners Jackie and James Jones say, “it’s a good feeling to know we are able to reduce some of the stress homeowners are feeling”. They shared that it’s about the people. Having heard so many stories from individuals about their hardships during this time, Jackie and James say, “the experience is rewarding knowing that we are helping people retain their homes”.

A quote from the Cuyahoga County Office of the Executive press release states, “‘Currently 6 percent of homeowners in Cuyahoga County are 90 days or more delinquent in their mortgage payment,’ said County Executive Armond Budish. ‘This funding will provide an additional measure of security and peace of mind to County homeowners knowing they will not risk losing their homes as they work to recover financially from the economic impacts of the pandemic.’”
