Their employee engagement strategies are paying dividends as their recognition and prominence soars. For the third year in a row, W.F. The Warrensville Heights Area Chamber of Commerce recently sat down with the president, Jerry Shafer, chief operating officer, Karen Johnson and some of their amazing management team members to learn more about the company and to tour their beautiful new facility.

Q: What makes you unique?
A: One key factor is an efficient dispatching flow. All our trucks have GPS and we utilize this in dispatching to coordinate a cohesive flow for service calls and installs. The way we make our sheet metal by hand and in house, to the way our parts and equipment are delivered to our employees. Most only get to see the guy at your house or at your business. However, there’s a lot going on behind the scenes that makes us efficient when we are at your home or place of business.
Q: How many employees do you have?
A: We currently have 70, and continue to grow.

Q: Tell us your Warrensville Heights success story.
A: The city of Warrensville Heights has been amazing so far. We did extensive work to our new building, and of course had several hurdles along the way. During our renovations, there were a few road blocks that we ran into that threatened to delay the construction if we didn’t get some answers. The engineer for the city was very cooperative in getting us through those roadblocks so that we could continue. We had a goal move in date and did not suffer any delay that with their cooperation. We even had a huge dirt mound in the back and they really did guide us. They’ve taken care of us and even came to our open house, and ribbon cutting. They have been open arms with us.

A: Take care of people and employees and they’ll take care of you.
