Addressing the Skills Gap in Northeast Ohio

Few issues are as important to the future prosperity of our community’s residents and its economy as is the availability of an effective workforce. William Gary, Executive Vice President of Workforce, Community and Economic Development (WCED) at Cuyahoga Community College, will give a presentation focused on Addressing the Skills Gap in Northeast Ohio. The presentation will outline several strategies underway at Tri-C that address the skills gap challenges facing our community. Through the collaboration between Tri-C’s academic programs and the WCED division, the College is committed to addressing talent pipeline issues that many employers face. Many of the strategies used involve community resources, and are designed to ensure Tri-C is providing the right training in the right industries that will help our students find gainful employment, as well as help local employers find the highly skilled employees they need.
